The Public Prosecutor’s Office in Świdnica decided to discontinue the investigation of the case against an agitator from the National Rebirth of Poland (Narodowe Odrodzenie Polski) in Świdnica.
To remind the situation: in December 2004 the National Rebirth of Poland was distributing brochures “warning” the citizens of Świdnica that their flats are to be taken over by “the Jews”. The brochure contained information that were untrue and against the law and contents and drawings that are, in our opinion, of anti-Semitic character. The Foundation for the Preservation of the Jewish Heritage in Poland has informed the Public Prosecutor’s Office about a perpetration of crime.
On June 30th 2005 the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Świdnica decided to discontinue the investigation due to a low level of social harmfulness. Such a solution does not satisfy us. The Foundation has, therefore, lodged a complaint against the Prosecutor’s decision and entered a request to re-open the investigation with special regard to the social harmfulness of the deed.
