linia 2005-06-10 Kolno

At the end of June 2005, thanks to the Foundation’s initiative, the Jewish cemetery in Kolno will be fenced. The idea of fencing the cemetery was first discussed in August 2004 when a representative of the Foundation together with rabbi Shlomo Besser met with the Kolno Mayor. The beautifully located Kolno cemetery is now deteriorating. Only the remnants of the gate remained from the old fence and the matzevot are lying on the ground. The new fence will put an end to further devastation of the cemetery. The fence will be erected thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor. More pictures of the Kolno cemetery are to be found in the GALLERY.
