On the 30th of October the members of the „Bieszczady” Tourist Society from Ustrzyki Dolne have officially opened a tourist route leading from the center of Ustrzyki Dolne to the Jewish cemetery. The ceremony was accompanied by the opening of an exhibition dedicated to the history of Galizian Jews. The activities of the Society are being supported by the Foundation for the Preservation of the Jewish Heritage in Poland.
“Bieszczady” Society’s activities are not limited to the tourist route: its members have cleaned and restored the cemetery itself and led some educational activities for the students of middle school in Ustrzyki Dolne. All these activities were part of the ”Our Promised Land” project, financed by the Batory Foundation.
We are thankful for the members of the Society for their dedication to the protection of the Jewish heritage.
