linia 2022-05-25 Meeting with partners involved in the preservation of Jewish cemeteries in Poland

On May 25, 2022, representatives of the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland, the newly established National Institute for the Conservation of Monuments and the National Board of the "Razem" Party met in Warsaw with Rabbi Moshe Ravad, representing the European Jewish Cemeteries Initiative (ESJF). During the meeting, prospects for further joint activities for the preservation of Jewish cemeteries located in Poland were discussed. Participants stated that the mission of preservation Jewish cemeteries in Poland is a task uniting various communities – including in Poland and abroad – having not only a multi-generational dimension, but also carrying a very important educational message. At the same time, they assured of their willingness to continue cooperation, which will indicate, among other things, cultural achievements of the former Jewish communities in Poland and their contribution to the common heritage, which should be protected by joint actions.
