A ceremony to commemorate Markus Rubinfeld, Mr. Mark Spatzner's grandfather and Jews from Jaroslaw took place on 26th of April 2006 at the Jewish Cemetery "Kruhel Pekinski" in Jaroslaw.
Among those who attended the ceremony were representatives of local public administration, police and art&cultural organizations, representative of the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland, group of young Canadian Jews and local press.
A symbolic matzevah that was unveiled at the ceremony is a first such monument after the War in Jaroslaw and it was inspired by the photo taken in 1939 (showed below). The original grave of Rubinfeld was lost during the World War II.
