In cooperation with the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland in July 2011 cleanup works were carried out at the Jewish cemetery in Jeleniewo. This action was made possible by the financial support of Mr. Herman Storick of New York, USA.
The last burial at the cemetery was recorded in 1940. The cemetery is fenced, there are about 30 matzevot left. In the 1990’s the cemetery was restored and fenced thanks to the efforts of Mr. Storick, and a monument commemorating the Jews of Jeleniewo was unveiled on its grounds.
